On August 29, a delegation led by Yang Bo, Secretary of the CPC Fangshan District Committee of Beijing, and Di Zhixin, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Fangshan District Committee of Beijing and District Mayor of Fangshan District People's Government of Beijing Municipality, visited the University of Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (UCASS) for discussion and exchange. They were received by Xu Jincheng, Secretary of the Party Committee of UCASS, and Zhang Zhengwen, Executive Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and President of UCASS. Other leaders including Zhang Shuhui, You Liqian, Gao Cheng, and Jiang Fei from UCASS, along with Jin Lu and Zhang Qi from Fangshan District, participated in the activity.
Yang Bo and his delegation toured the UCASS History Museum and inspected the campus development progress, gaining information on UCASS's founding background, educational features, developmental status, and recent achievements. At the Key Laboratory of Archaeological Sciences and Cultural Heritage of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (History Research of China and UCASS), they learned about the laboratory's contributions to the advancement of technological archaeology and observed process demonstrations and achievement displays of cultural relic restoration.
During the discussion session, Xu Jincheng expressed gratitude for the long-standing care and support provided by Fangshan District. He stated that Fangshan boasts rich historical and cultural resources, particularly highlighting the significance of the systematic exploration, excavation, and research around the Liulihe Archaeological Site. He expected closer communication and collaboration between UCASS and the Fangshan District government, establishing a robust cooperative mechanism, especially in areas such as archaeological work. Xu also said that UCASS would continuously advance interdisciplinary integration to support the high-quality economic and social development of Fangshan.
Yang Bo expressed high appreciation for UCASS' strong support of Fangshan's development. He noted that UCASS features outstanding comprehensive strength and academic prowess, with research covering a wide range of fields. He hoped that UCASS could further enhance its assistance to archaeological efforts in Fangshan District and leverage its technological and resource advantages to drive the transformation and application of archaeological achievements in the district, so as to achieve complementary strengths and collaborative innovations between the university and the district. Meanwhile, Yang said that Fangshan District would keep providing all necessary support and services to foster greater outcomes in the integrated development of the two sides.
Other participants in the activity included responsible officials from relevant departments of Fangshan District, Liangxiang University Town, the Liulihe Archaeological Site Management Office, and the Fangshan Branch of Beijing Municipal Commission of Planning and Natural Resources.
