School of Media


The School of Media has two majors: Journalism, and Broadcasting and Television. Currently it is preparing to introduce a new major: Network and New Media. It has 418 students and 37 faculty members among whom 12 have studied abroad and several have worked for mainstream media.


The School has established in-depth cooperation with the Institute of Journalism and Communication of CASS and maintains strategic partnerships with more than 20 media such as CCTV, China Youth Daily, People's Daily Online,China Youth International, Nanfang Daily Media Group and Tencent for deep integration of research, practice and teaching, providing students with a number of internship andpracticum programs with mainstream media.


The School has established many scientific research platforms, such as the Political Communication Research Center, the Media Law Research Center, the Media and Youth Research Center, the New Media Research Center, the Data-driven News Laboratory for Computing and Communication and the Media Convergence Laboratory so as to promote academic research and knowledge innovation.


The School concentrates on the internationalization of its teaching and research functions, providing international learning and research opportunities for students and faculty through its international academic weeks, workshops and overseas study and exchange programs.
