School of Political Science and Law


The School of Political Science and Law offers two academic degree programs: Law and Sociology. Currently there are 834 enrolled undergraduates and postgraduates. With 48 full-time faculty members, the School has established in-depth cooperation with Institute of Law, Institute of International Law, and Institute of Sociology under Chinese Academy of Social Sciences. The School engages 40 experts and scholars as distinguished professors and academic tutors, including CASS Members.


The School seeks to strike a balance between theoretical learning and practical experience of students. In 2018, the School won the first place at the 17th JESSUP International Law Moot Court Competition (China Division), the third at the 17th Asia-Pacific Red Cross Humanitarian Law Moot Court Competition, and the second in the Beijing Foreign Studies University Intellectual Property International Moot Court Competition. A number of internship opportunities are provided by the School, including the Supreme People's Court Internship Program, International Court Internship Program, Hong Kong Voyage of Plough Constellation Internship Program on Social Work.


The School strives to develop students' international vision, knowledge and skills to meet the needs of globalization, by providing students with opportunities of learning at famous universities such as Goethe University Frankfurt, University of Notre Dame, and Leiden University.
