The Second Cross-Strait Forum on Rural Revitalization and Common Prosperity Held in Xiamen, Fujian

From June 13 to 15, the Second Cross-Strait Forum on Rural Revitalization and Common Prosperity (SCRRCP Forum), co-hosted by the University of Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (UCASS), the Rural Development Institute of Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, and relevant organizations, took place in Xiamen, Fujian. Themed "rural revitalization and common prosperity", the forum included various segments such as the opening ceremony, keynote speeches, and a youth scholars forum. Experts, scholars and young talents from both sides of the Taiwan Strait engaged in agricultural and rural issues and exchanged in-depth insights on rural revitalization from multiple perspectives.




The opening ceremony and keynote presentations were held on the morning of June 14, with Gao Wenshu, Vice President of UCASS, presiding over the ceremony. Ma Yuan, Deputy Secretary-General of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences and Executive Vice President of the Chinese Academy of History (CASS); Li Hui, Deputy Director of the Straits Economic and Technological Cooperation Center of the Taiwan Affairs Office of the State Council; Wang Xiaobin, Deputy Director of the Agricultural and Rural Programs Center of China Media Group; Xu Weize, President of the Fujian Provincial Rural Revitalization Promotion Association; and Wang Ming-Sheng, President of the Sun Yat-sen Southern School in Taiwan delivered speeches in the ceremony. Keynote speeches were given by Wei Houkai, Director of the Rural Development Institute of Chinese Academy of Social Sciences; Liu Danian, Director of the Regional Development Research Center of the Chung-Hua Institution for Economic Research in Taiwan; Jiang Jianping, Vice President of the Cross-Strait Agricultural Exchange Association; and Professor Huang Bingwen from Taiwan Chung-Hsing University.



On the afternoon of June 14, the Youth Scholars Forum was hosted by UCASS, with its School of Applied Economics and the Office of Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan Affairs as co-organizers. Professor Gao Wenshu and Professor Xu Yuan-Tai from the College of Bio-Resources & Agriculture of Taiwan University delivered remarks.

The conference also included forums on sustainable agricultural development, the well-being of the people, urban-rural integration, and precision agriculture and technological cooperation across the Strait.
