GRADUATE DEPARTMENT – TAKING ECONOMIC STUDIES FOR EXAMPLE

 

UCASS has opened 40 teaching departments for graduates offering master and Ph.D. degrees in accordance to the organizational layout of the 6 academic divisions of Chinese Academy of Social Sciences.

Taking economic studies for example, there are 11 teaching departments, including Department of Economics, Department of Industrial Economics, Department of Rural Development Studies, Department of Economic Strategy, Department of Finance, Department of Quantitative and Technical Economics, Department of Investment, Department of Government Policies and Public Administration, Department of Urban-Rural Development Studies, Department of Demography and Labor Economics, and Department of Urban Development and Environmental Studies. There are currently 224 doctoral supervisors and 235 postgraduate supervisors within these departments, including many famous Chinese economists. Every year around 150 doctoral students and 100 postgraduate students are enrolled.

 

 

Professor Wang Zhenzhong, CASS Academician, the Deputy Director- General of the Institute of History, UCASS distinguished professor, gave a lecture on the history of Chinese philosophies and thoughts at UCASS in 2017.

 

 

The Department of Economics held the first China Economics Forum in 2005.
