Currently the School of Governance has three majors for undergraduates: Political Science and Administration, Administrative Management, and Labor and Social Security. The school specializes in two first-tier disciplines, Politics and Public Management, which are solidly founded and attains strong development potential. It operates four predominant disciplines: Political Science, Administrative Management, Urban Management, and Demography and Labor Economy. Its five key disciplines are Contemporary Chinese Politics, Party Politics, Comparative Politics, Labor and Social Security, and Urban Environmental Governance.
Currently there are 538 students and 30 faculty. Besides, the School has engaged 29 senior researchers from the Institute of Political Science, and the Institute of Information and Intelligence of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences as distinguished professors and academic tutors.
The School focuses on the theoretical literacy of students in teaching, and at the same time, it actively provides students with rich opportunities of social practice and various international programs. Currently the School has maintained good relations with York University, University of Sheffield, University of California, Berkeley, and Johns Hopkins University for student cultivation and academic exchanges.
The School of Governance organized the Symposium on Chinese Politics and Political Construction over 40 Years of China's Opening up and Reform in 2018, participated by more than100 noted politics scholars in China.
