The School of Humanities has developed a full-level talent cultivation system for undergraduates, postgraduates, doctoral students, and postdoctoral students. There are currently 42 full-time faculty, 396 undergraduates and postgraduates majoring in Chinese Linguistics and Literature, History, and Philosophy respectively. Relying on the scientific research strength of the Division of Literature, the Division of Philosophy and the Division of History of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, the School has so far engaged 88 experts and scholars as distinguished professors and undergraduate academic tutors, including some academicians and doctoral supervisors of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences.
The School attaches great importance to the cultivation of innovative and high-level professionals with profound cultural literacy and broad cultural vision. Currently the School has established academic exchange and cooperation relations with a number of foreign universities. A series of international exchange activities are carrying out regularly. Students may go abroad participating in a variety of study abroad programs or attend international academic lectures on UCASS campus. Faculty members make international visits for academic exchanges on a regular basis.
Professor Wang Jianlang, Director-General of the Institute of Modern History, distinguished professor, gave a lecture on Chinese modern history at UCASS in 2017.
